SCCA @ Homestead-Miami Speedway
Since I haven't posted since Thanksgiving, I am going to start with what we are doing this weekend and work backwards to try to get this blog caught up.
On January 1st I was browsing on the Internet trying to fin out if Homestead-Miami Speedway offered tours. They don't, but they did have an SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) race put on by the Florida Region of SCCA. A very nice gentleman returned my email on the same day and said we would be welcome to join them. Oh boy! We were quite excited.
We are having a great time here and meeting a lot of nice people. It is so interesting to learn some of the behind-the-scenes activities and duties. We couldn't be in a better group. Thanks so much to the Florida Region SCCA for including us in the crew for The Palm Tree Majors.

Just a peek of the grandstands sticking out over the top of the trees. |

Beautiful, Palm-lined drive up to the grandstands. |
Look! A pace car. |
And another one! |
View of the scoring pylon from the top of the garage. |
The grid from the top of the garage. |
More cars waiting to go on track. |
Check out the yellow sticker. Had to have a shot of it. |
I found a quilt! |
Love my Cameros. |
Tom and I in the Registration and Credentials building. |
Me on Sat morning in the pits getting a selfie. Wet hair don't care. |
Bob Ricker, this weekend's Race Steward and our boss. He works for Guest Services for the track. |
We spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday selling t-shirts for the event. Not bad duty at all. |
